Darren de Souza
Senior Policy and Projects Officer
Darren leads London Higher’s policy work on research & innovation, soft power, civic and mental health & wellbeing. He oversees high-profile projects such as the London Higher Civic Map and Global Majority Mentoring Programme and has a particular focus on showcasing the local, national and global impact of London HE. He contributes to policy influencing via written briefings, network management, member engagement and external representation. He sits on the London Anchor Institutions’ Network (LAIN) steering committee and UK Soft Power Group (UKSPG).
Darren previously worked in higher education/research policy and communications in Brussels. He holds a first-class degree in History & Portuguese from the University of Leeds and is a current MSc Global Affairs student at King’s College London. He is also a board trustee for London Nightline.
