Creative London: where talent meets industry

London is the creative education capital of the world, home to an unparalleled range of globally recognised conservatoires, world-leading specialist institutions and creative faculties.

The capital accounts for over 50% of the UK’s total creative economic output and is home to more than a quarter of all creative students in the UK generating £64 billion of creative Gross Value Added (GVA) in 2023.

One in seven jobs in the capital is within the creative industries, providing a direct bridge from the classroom to the studio for our graduates.

London Higher aims to link the capital’s creative higher education sector with industry bodies and policymakers through convening, campaigning and advocacy.

BFI Metro London Skills Cluster

As the official Higher Education partner for the BFI Metro London Skills Cluster, led by Film London and supported by the National Lottery Fund, London Higher bridges the gap between education and the screen industries.

The London Screen HE Network

London Higher leads a dedicated network of senior screen academics from across the capital. This group works collectively to identify and address skill shortages in film and TV sectors, create bespoke pathways for students into production roles and showcase the exceptional teaching and facilities available within London’s universities.

Throughout the academic year, London Higher delivers a series of industry panel discussions that connect students and professionals from production houses; academic CPD that provides staff with latest industry insights and screen masterclasses that focuses more on specialist crafts.
