London Higher welcomes today’s London AI and Jobs Taskforce’s report. Along with our members, we have been glad to support the taskforce’s work as it has developed.
The report sets out a framework for London to spot AI-driven change in jobs and skills early, bring employers, workers, educators and unions together to shape how AI is introduced, and build new pathways into good work that recognise the human capabilities, judgement, creativity, communication, collaboration, that matter alongside AI.
Educating over 500,000 students, London’s higher education institutions sit at the heart of the capital’s skills pipeline, from technology and life sciences to health and the creative industries. That makes London Higher’s members central to delivering on the taskforce’s ambition, and we look forward to working with the Mayor, Baroness Martha Lane-Fox, and taskforce partners to realise the report’s recommendations.
