London Higher appoints Dr Diana Beech as incoming CEO

London Higher, the membership organisation representing over 40 HEIs across London, is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Diana Beech as its new Chief Executive.

Diana arrives from the University of Warwick, where she has led the Government affairs function, and previously worked for three Ministers of Universities, Science, Research and Innovation. At London Higher she will be responsible for leading the organisation’s aim of being ‘a voice’ for London’s universities and higher education colleagues. She takes over from Jane Glanville, who has held the role since 2002.

Diana assumes her role in October.

Professor Paul Layzell, Chair of London Higher, said:

“The Board and I are delighted to have appointed Dr Diana Beech to lead the leadership team at London Higher. This is a critical time for the whole Higher Education Sector, and in Diana we have found a dynamic individual who will be able to campaign for the London HEI sector, and take our agenda to an even-higher level.”

Dr Diana Beech added:

I am thrilled to be joining London Higher at such a critical time for London’s HEI sector.

“We know that Higher Education is so important. When HE institutions thrive, society and the communities around them succeed too. I am excited at the opportunity to represent London Higher’s membership to ensure they have the conditions they need to achieve.”
