London Healthcare Education Group (LHEG)

Network aim: LHEG brings together strategic leads from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) providing nursing, midwifery and applied health professions (AHP) courses in London. Working collaboratively with our members from NHSE our HEI members directly influence key NHS policy decisions that affect healthcare students in the capital. LHEG’s collegiate style means that the network can support each other and work strategically to tackle complex challenges like placement capacity and taking forward the NHS Workforce plan.
Current project: LHEG has developed a Student Nursing Campaign. Our #StudyNursingLondon aims to inspire and empower young people up and down the UK to embark on rewarding study and study for nursing careers in the capital city.
Membership: Deans or equivalent from schools of nursing. Midwifery or AHP. Senior leaders from HEE.
Chair: Katherine Curtis, Associate Dean External Engagement, Faculty of Health, Science, Social Care and Education, Kingston University
Meeting regularity: Quarterly (more regularly when required)
