London Higher is pleased to invite you to Removing Barriers, Forging Paths – a full-day CPD conference exploring intersectional approaches to supporting disabled and neurodivergent students into and through higher education, held at Goldsmiths, University of London on Thursday 3 July (10:00-15:00).

Jointly hosted by the widening participation division of London Higher, AccessHE, and Aimhigher London, this timely event will bring together widening participation practitioners, SENCOs and careers leads, third sector organisations, and HE staff working in access, inclusion and student support.

The conference is a unique opportunity to engage with policy, practice, and lived experience by offering practical insight, sector-led discussion, and collaborative networking opportunities for those working to remove barriers for students with disabilities. With contributions from university staff, charities, and students themselves, the day will showcase current thinking and emerging practice across the sector.

The programme for the day will include:

  • Keynote addresses from sector leaders and advocates, including Dr Omar Khan (TASO)
  • Practical workshops covering topics including inclusive welcome and transition programmes; supporting mental health and emotional wellbeing; and utilising digital and assistive technology tools
  • A student-led talk on navigating higher education with a disability
  • A panel discussion exploring disclosure practices and supporting students with undiagnosed needs
  • Opportunities for reflection, networking, and cross-sector collaboration throughout the day

This is an excellent CPD opportunity for those supporting learners with disabilities at key points of transition and those working to shape more inclusive and accessible services within education settings. If you have any questions feel free to get in touch at accesshe@londonhigher.ac.uk.

We hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be an engaging, collaborative, and impactful day.
