This event, taking place at UCL BaseKX on 9 July, will spotlight the vital role of international students in London’s frontier innovation ecosystem, reinforcing the city’s position as a global hub for talent and cutting-edge research. London offers unparalleled opportunities for international students to be at the forefront of frontier industries, contributing to advancements in artificial intelligence; life sciences; business and analytics; and digital and green technologies. This event aims to highlight those opportunities and celebrate London’s role in nurturing talent that shapes the future and drives growth.

The role of UK’s International Education Strategy, and in particular the Graduate Visa, will be examined to determine how they enable success. A clear pathway for talented international graduates is essential for global talent to remain in the UK and contribute to its economy and innovation landscape. Whilst the recent changes to the Graduate Route and the proposed levy are an additional challenge, this event will explore how London can continue to attract and retain the brightest minds from around the world.  International students underpin the city’s competitiveness and support its long-term ambitions, outlined in the recently published London Growth Plan.
